It narrates a situation when tension has mounted due to the rise of post-World War terrorism. The Chinese government as the only surviving superpower has come a long way in its investment policies. Having learned that state to state debts can also be bad debts, the Chinese invest heavily in big pharmaceuticals. In the post World War era, the pharmaceutical companies attempt to get a global skin transplant law passed. The New United Nations is so heavily dominated by China that the law goes through in spite of protest from Angela Tembo, an African diplomat.Four African diplomat escape out of Europe before the gendarmes of the pharmaceutical industry can claim them as company property. They report to the regional block as the global press broad cast the news far and wide. Public opinion goes against the NewUN position and the world body is forced to not only drop the bad law, but to broaden the number of nations that have the power of veto. In the middle of all of this, Job Zulu, a South African diplomat and Angela Tembo, a Zambian diplomat find each other. Love is in the air and the book ends just before the wedding day.
